Green Juice
Ingredients:
1 bunch of kale
1 bunch of spinach
4 Granny Smith apples, quartered
1 head of celery, stalks separated
1-2 English cucumbers, cut into four pieces
3 lemons, peeled
1 bunch of parsley
2 inches of ginger
I use a Breville juicer, it's not the best one on the market, but it gets the job done and was a reasonable price ($100 from Amazon).
Tips:
- Start with something soft, like lemon, to get the juicer going.
- Alternate leafy greens with celery stalks, apple quarters, and cucumbers to get the best outcome.
- Roll leafy greens into bundles.
- Re-juice the pulp at least once. I make balls of pulp and re-juice at the end. (If you have a super fancy juicer, this won't be necessary).
I store the juice in 8 oz mason jars and my husband and I consume the deliciousness within a few days. Research suggests fresh juice be consumed immediately, but who has time to juice every day?! I sure as heck don't! This system works for us so give it a try.
Look at that beautiful color!
Bottoms up!
Enjoy!
