Ultimate Reset: Day 7
Day7: Emotional Disaster
Hi! My name is Ashly and I'm an emotional trainwreck.
You guys, today was rough! Sean was super cranky from the second he woke up and then today's lunch options made it even worse. He kept texting me about how much he loathed the zucchini cashew soup and how I didn't put enough vinegar in the salad dressing (p.s. I followed the recipe to a T).
I was fine until about 12:30 PM then a flood of emotions hit me. I became super stressed, anxious, and sad. I actually cried. Ugly cried. Not to mention I was freeeeeezing all day. I had the heat turned up to 73 degrees F and wore layers of winter clothes, yet my teeth were still chattering! This lovely side effect is apparently normal.
I'm still craving coffee, but I'm actually not hungry and the thought of eating pizza, Chinese, or sweets makes me ill. My tummy has been feeling SO good, I actually don't want to eat those gross foods. But I would do anything for a cup of coffee or wine!
Poor Sean is craving wings and Chinese something fierce. He almost gave in and cheated today, but he didn't!
As I said, an emotional detox is common during the Ultimate Reset. So I'm just hoping this passes soon...for the both of us! I keep reminding myself that our bodies (and minds) need this. We deserve a little spring cleaning and tune up.
Phase 1: Reclaim >> Phase 2: Release
Today is the last day of phase 1, which means no more eggs, meat, or dairy. To be honest, I think I would've quit if I wasn't blogging and posting about this journey. Knowing so many people are following and cheering for me is truly what's keeping me in the game. So thanks for keeping me on track! ;)
Today's meal plan:
First thing: 24 oz water with Mineralize and Optimize supplements
30 minutes later: Breakfast - Oatmeal with ground flax, apple, and pure maple syrup & plain yogurt with pure maple syrup and cinnamon
{{The meal plan called for half an apple, but because I'm nursing, I ate the entire apple! I love this breakfast and am definitely going to miss it over the next two weeks!}}
2 hours later: Mineralize and Optimize supplements
30 minutes later: Lunch - Microgreen Salad and Zucchini Cashew Soup
{{The salad is so filling! It's actually 3 cups of greens plus a ton of other veggies and pumpkin seeds. The soup was disappointing again!}}
2 hours later: Power Greens powder with water
30 minutes later: Snack - Vegan Chocolate Shakeology + banana + peanut butter
{{I used the biggest banana I could find today (because of my emotional turmoil)! This chocolate heaven was exactly what I needed to perk me up!}}
2 hours later: Mineralize, Optimize, Soothe supplements
30 minutes later: Dinner - Baked tempeh, brown rice, steamed broccoli
{{Ummm can you say BLAND?! I squeezed lemon juice over everything, which helped a little! I also had a whole cup of rice instead of half and a whole cup of broccoli instead of half to keep my calorie count high enough for breastfeeding!}}
Supplement Info:
Here is the description of Soothe, one of the supplements I take each night before dinner:
Soothe is a one-of-a-kind supplement that combines two incredible botanicals: aloe vera and curcumin. Aloe vera is a succulent plant long used in traditional healing to relieve minor cuts, burns, and insect bites. Aloe vera has also been traditionally used to support digestive health and the body's response to oxidative stress. Curcumin, a household remedy in India that's long been a staple in ayurvedic medicine, is a natural extract of the spice turmeric. Like aloe vera, curcumin promotes digestive health and is known for its antioxidant properties that help the body fight free radical damage.
Our organic aloe vera is harvested to ensure that only the mature leaves are picked, and filleted to keep only the beneficial gel. These careful steps allow us to bring you pure and potent aloe vera that's freeze-dried and powdered to help preserve its beneficial compounds. The resulting product has a 200x concentration for potency.
We're excited to bring these two powerful, time-tested wellness agents together to create Soothe.
That's a wrap on Phase 1: Reclaim!
Onto Phase 2: Release tomorrow!
